Come along to Freddies for drinks and informal networking with some of our wonderful Alumni. It’s a fantastic opportunity to find out about transitioning from College to working life and to gain valuable insights from people that have been in your shoes!
All welcome. Whatever faculty/sector you are in do come along. This is a unique opportunity to meet with College Alumni who are currently in the workplace, hear about their career experiences and ask them questions, in a relaxed enviroment.

Cameron Dadkhah, Class of 2017
Cameron is a qualified barrister and Management Consultant at Deloitte specialising in capital markets compliance, combining a unique blend of legal acumen and commercial awareness. Cameron is passionate about guiding College Members to successful career outcomes and has given delivered several skills workshops at Goodenough around CV and application writing and interview techniques.
Shruti Deb, Class of 2019
Shruti works as a Policy Adviser in the Tech & Innovation Unit of the Investment Association and is involved with work on digital assets, AI as well as cybersecurity. Having started her career as a corporate lawyer in India focusing on M&A for 3 years, Shruti moved to the UK in 2018 to pursue a Master’s in Public Policy. Her interest and goal was always tech policy exploring new and emerging technologies including AI but also understanding the concerns around them and breaking big concepts into real topics. She knows the challeges of finding a job in London after leaving the College. Key skills include drafting, negotiating, leading/ moderating/ convening conferences and panels and liaising with stakeholders including regulators and government.
Ryan Li, Class of 2022
Ryan currently works at Tik Tok as the Ecommerce Data Science Lead, with previous data science roles at Trainline, Shopify and Bell. He specializes in bridging data science R&D with business value creation and team building.
Sushila Abraham, Class of 1991
Sushila has been a lawyer for over 30 years, working at different law firms in central London and running her own practice in Surbiton for the past 18 years. Sushila was a legal complaints officer at the Law Society before the Office of the Legal Ombudsman was created and she has worked to involve young solicitors in the activities of the SLS and to promote their interests. During her chairship of the Sole Practioners Group, and thereafter as an executive committee member, she has attended and continued to attend meetings with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
Elena Chernysheva, Class of 2022
Elena has a career working in the charity sector - specifically, in communications and fundraising for charities, currently Strategic Marketing Lead at Crisis UK. She has been leading fundraising and outreach campaigns for charities for over 9 years, including those for WWF and Crisis UK. Led communications for international partnerships, institutional donors and mass fundraising campaigns. She started her career at digital marketing agencies and then transitioned to non-profits.
Yuri Hung, Class of 2017
Yuri as previously worked as a consultant specialising in human capital insights. He is serving as an Advisor for United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.
Blanca Gómez García, Class of 2023
Blanca holds a permanent position as a Lecturer in Hispanic Studies at UCL. She completed her PhD in Spanish, Portuguese, and Latin American Studies at the same university, researching the works of Spanish exiles in the United Kingdom after the Spanish Civil War. She has taught Spanish and Latin American film, literature, and history, as well as Spanish language. Her main research interests focus on the Spanish Civil War and autobiographical writing but also include migration studies within the Hispanic world, women's writing, and the intersection between literature and history. She is also the founder and director of an early career research journal on Hispanic Studies called Revista Úrsula.
Jean-François C. Lemay, Class of 2009
Jean-Francios graduated in architecture with distinction from McGill University in 2006, and went on to study at the Architectual Assoical in London. He founded his own architecture and design office, Jflemay Architecture and Design RIBA, after nine years working for Foster and Partners where he worked for three years on the Stirling Prize-winning Bloomberg Offices, and for five years on the Oceanwide Centre towers in San Francisco, where he was responsible for the project’s planning application, historic restoration and public spaces. In 2019 his furniture was selected by Elle Decor Italia as among the best of the Salone Satellite exhibition and featured in the Salone del Mobile’s exhibition of young designers at La Rinascente in Milan.
Ben Smith, Class of 2015
Ben is a dispute resolution senior associate at Lewis Silkin, LLP, specialising in a broad range of media & entertainment, tech, sports and complex commercial disputes. Before joining Lewis Silkin he trained at a multinational law firm and spent time post qualification with a US litigation boutique and worked in-house in Sky's Litigation and Anti-Piracy Team and Tesco’s Product Legal Team He is also a founder of the Rising Lawyers’ Society and a Committee Member of the Junior London Solicitors Litigation Association.
Dr. Roberto Fumagalli, Class of 2011
Roberto is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at King’s College London and has research affiliations with the London School of Economics and the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests cover a wide range of areas, including philosophy of science, philosophy of economics, philosophy and public policy. He has published articles in several international journals and has received multiple awards for his teaching / education activities across different countries. His main hobbies are travel and art (especially poetry, with various collections of poems published in Italian and reviewed by major Italian newspapers).
Alan Rainer, Class of 1985
Alan has had a varied career including as a Chartered Accountant, RE and music teacher, charity worker for Centrepoint and is an author.
Carlton Chu, Class of 2008
Following a degree in Computer System Engineering at Auckland University and Master of Biomedical Engineering at UNSW Sydney, Carlton did a PhD at The Welcome Trust Centre for Neuroimage in UCL on machine learning methods for neuroimage analysis, including structural and functional MRI. After a few years in the USA, Carlton returned to London to work for a startup, DeepMind, which was acquired Google in 2014, where he works as a research engineer. His skills include applying AI algorithms to practical applications, recommendation systems (YouTube Music, Google Play...), some level of computer vision, tuning large language model (AI overviews) and summarizing and prioritizing feasible methods and proposals.
Úrsula Larraquy, Class of 2022
Ursula is a political economist specialising in sustainable finance, climate policy, and emerging markets. With a background in international relations, she is dedicated to aligning financial flows with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and advancing climate-related investment strategies. Úrsula began her career in the corporate sector at EY and later contributed to international climate policy and local government diplomacy with the Government of the City of Buenos Aires. Following her MSc in International Political Economy from the LSE (2021-2022), she joined Genesis Analytics in the Climate Finance & Economics team, where she leads impactful projects in developing countries, primarily across Africa.Her project experience includes providing analytical support for Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) planning, implementation, and impact assessments; applying ESG and sustainability reporting frameworks and standards; and conducting research on sustainable finance trends, renewable energy, and SMEs. In addition, Úrsula leads Genesis's internal task team for carbon footprint calculation and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction planning.
Her key skills include project management, political economy analysis, climate finance and policy, carbon footprinting, and stakeholder engagement. Currently, Úrsula is also pursuing the Climate Risk, Valuation, and Investing Certificate with the CFA Institute.
