Shakespeare’s warring families and passionate young lovers come to life in excerpts from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, and the concert opens with Norwegian composer Øyvind Torvund’s symphonic poem ‘Forest Morning’ for orchestra and electronics, in which idyllic birdsong is gradually taken over by the sounds of traffic and urban bustle.
