'Theater of Thought' is a "characteristically playful" documentary about the mysteries of the brain by Werner Herzog from 2022. The film was inspired by Professor Rafael Yuste, Chair of the NeuroRights Foundation, to delve into neurotechnology's medical potential and ethical concerns.

Werner has directed 42 documentaries and many more other films and is often called one of the most influential directors alive. In Theater of Thought, he explores how this bunch of cells together called the brain can produce deep feelings and thoughts. The current scientific investigations into these questions are nothing short of science fiction and are pushing existing policies and ethical frameworks to the limits.

"Theater of Thought" was selected for the Toronto Film Festival 2022 and premiered at Telluride Film Festival.
